Warrior Diesel Generators are relatively new to the UK market, only becoming available here in 2016, and as such not a lot is known about them. We've been selling them for over 12 months now, and this article covers our experience based on customer feedback.
Warrior only distribute five models of diesel generator in the UK currently, ranging from 5.5kVA to 13.7kVA including two 3-phase models. They all include AVR technology and are silenced canopy designs - they also rate very well on emissions. They may not be very well known in the UK just now, but Warrior are one of the biggest manufacturers of diesel generators globally and they have a growing reputation in this country.
Well priced? Value for money?
These generators are incredibly well priced when stacked up against the competition and in our opinion they offer excellent value for money. If you're considering buying a Silenced Diesel Generator you can split your options into two categories - models with Chinese engines or models with European engines. If you have the budget for a European engined model (Perkins, Lombardini, Yanmar, Kubota) then the team at Energy will always recommend those, but they're generally 2-3 times the price of Chinese engined models.
If you decide to go for a Chinese engined model, then these Warrior silenced generators lead the way, both on price and on quality. For example, the nearest competitor to the Warrior LDG6000S is Hyundai's DHY6000SE, currently a very popular model in this country. Compared side by side, the Warrior is cheaper, quieter, lighter, comes with double the warranty period, and it's around 30% cheaper.
Are they good quality? Reliable?
During 12 months of selling these Warrior generators we've had an incredibly small number of problems - for a 'non-premium' brand it has been remarkable. Generators are complicated machines, so there will always be the odd problem, but we can honestly say that so far these generators have really impressed us with their build quality and reliability. Of course we always advise our customers properly, and the smaller generators in the range (LDG4600, LDG6000) are not 'prime power' generators, but they are perfect for home or business backup, and even come ATS ready. If you need a prime power source we would always recommend a premium brand European engine.
